A real acne plan from a dermatologist — not the one you got at sixteen.
Whether it's adult hormonal acne, stubborn cystic acne, or a routine that stopped working, a dermatologist will review your photos and history and write a plan that actually fits your skin.
$59 standard visit · $129 priority (within 12 hours). Standard visits are reviewed within 24 hours.
A dermatology plan for acne.
What we treat
- Adult and hormonal acne, including jawline and chin breakouts
- Stubborn cystic acne resistant to OTC products
- Post-acne marks, hyperpigmentation, and texture
- Acne management during pregnancy planning (with care)
What photos & history help
- Face photos in even, natural light — front, left, right
- Close-ups of active areas (jawline, chin, back, chest)
- Photos of current product labels you're using
- Note your menstrual cycle pattern if relevant

Possible parts of your plan.
Your dermatologist tailors the plan to your history. Not every option below will be appropriate for every patient. A DocBright visit is a medical evaluation, not a guaranteed prescription.
- Topical retinoids — tretinoin, adapalene
- Topical antibiotics — clindamycin, sometimes paired with benzoyl peroxide
- Spironolactone for adult hormonal acne
- Oral antibiotics for inflammatory acne
Don't stress — if we can't help, we'll refund your visit.
Online dermatology isn't right for every concern. If we can't provide a first-line impression, or your condition isn't suitable for review via DocBright, we'll tell you and refund your visit fee.
- Severe nodulocystic acne where isotretinoin (Accutane) is appropriate — due to the level of management required, isotretinoin cannot be prescribed via DocBright and requires in-person care
- Acne with signs of an underlying hormonal disorder requiring labs
Top-rated dermatology care from U.S. board-certified dermatologists.
Your DocBright visit is always reviewed by a board-certified dermatologist. Every treatment plan is custom tailored based on your medical history, photos, symptoms, and goals.

“At DocBright, our goal is to make high-quality dermatology care easier to access. Patients should be able to get thoughtful, professional care without waiting weeks for an appointment or rearranging their day around a video visit.”
Transparent. Simple pricing. No insurance headaches.
Choose standard or priority review. The level of care is the same; the difference is how quickly your case is reviewed. At $59, a standard visit is often less than most insurance copays — without the wait or paperwork.

Medication costs are separate and may vary by pharmacy, insurance, and prescription. Patients can use insurance for many prescriptions filled at the pharmacy. Prescriptions may be written for up to 6 months when medically appropriate. A paid follow-up visit is required at least every 6 months for ongoing prescription treatment.
Questions about acne.
Can I get tretinoin online?
Yes — when clinically appropriate. Tretinoin is a common starting point for adult acne and is well-supported by an online dermatology visit.
What about spironolactone for hormonal acne?
Spironolactone can be prescribed by our dermatologists when appropriate, with attention to medical history and contraindications.
