What DocBright helps with

A dermatology plan for prescription refills.

What we treat

  • Refills of tretinoin, adapalene, and other topical retinoids
  • Refills of finasteride, dutasteride, oral or topical minoxidil
  • Refills of doxycycline, spironolactone, and other ongoing dermatology meds
  • Most other ongoing dermatology prescriptions — if it isn't listed, ask and we'll review
  • Six-month follow-up renewals required for many derm prescriptions

What photos & history help

  • Photo of the current Rx label or bottle
  • A current photo of the treated area for progress check
  • A note on side effects, missed doses, or anything you'd like adjusted
How it works

Three steps. Five minutes or less. No video calls.

  1. 01

    Tell us what's going on

Answer a guided medical history and upload three to five clear photos of the area you'd like reviewed. Most patients finish this in under five minutes from their phone.

  2. 02

    A dermatologist reviews your case

A board-certified dermatologist reviews your photos and history, asks follow-up questions if needed, and writes a treatment plan tailored to you.

    Within 24 hours
  3. 03

    Prescriptions sent

If medication is appropriate, prescriptions are sent to your preferred pharmacy, with delivery options available through Amazon Pharmacy or your preferred mail-order pharmacy. You can ask follow-up questions after your plan is delivered.

What DocBright is great for: visible skin, hair, and nail concerns, including hair loss, rashes, acne, eczema, rosacea, shaving bumps, and ongoing prescriptions. When you need in-person care: rapidly spreading rashes, suspected skin cancer that needs biopsy, or anything we judge to be unsafe to treat remotely. If your condition cannot be properly assessed online, we will tell you and refund your visit fee.
Treatment options

Possible parts of your plan.

Your dermatologist tailors the plan to your history. Not every option below will be appropriate for every patient. A DocBright visit is a medical evaluation, not a guaranteed prescription.

  • Continuation of your current prescription when appropriate
  • Dose, vehicle, or strength adjustments based on how you're doing
  • Pharmacy switch or compounding-pharmacy options
When in-person care is better

Don't stress — if we can't help, we'll refund your visit.

Online dermatology isn't right for every concern. If we can't provide a first-line impression, or your condition isn't suitable for review via DocBright, we'll tell you and refund your visit fee.

  • Anything requiring biopsies
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) prescriptions and continued treatment — due to the level of management required, isotretinoin cannot be prescribed via DocBright
  • New concerns that are unrelated to your current prescription

Medication costs are separate and may vary by pharmacy, insurance, and prescription. Patients can use insurance for many prescriptions filled at the pharmacy. Prescriptions may be written for up to 6 months when medically appropriate. A paid follow-up visit is required at least every 6 months for ongoing prescription treatment.

Refill check-ins use the standard $59 visit fee. Many dermatology prescriptions require a paid follow-up visit at least every 6 months — we'll prompt you when one is needed.

FAQ

Questions about prescription refills.

Why do refills require a visit?

Medical review is still required for dermatology prescriptions, even if they're just being refilled. The DocBright check-in is short and doesn't require any video calls. Your dermatologist reviews your progress and history before renewing.

How long can my prescription be written for?

Prescriptions may be written for up to 6 months when medically appropriate. After that, a paid follow-up visit is required to continue treatment.

Whatever it is, let's take a look.

Send your first photos in a few minutes. A board-certified dermatologist will review them and write you a plan, usually before tomorrow.

No subscription required. Receipt available for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Available in all 50 states.
