Your dermatologist tailors the plan to your history. Not every option below will be appropriate for every patient. A DocBright visit is a medical evaluation, not a guaranteed prescription.

- Prescription azelaic acid for dark spots and uneven tone, including on sensitive or rosacea-prone skin
- A simple routine that pairs your prescription with daily sunscreen and a gentle moisturizer
Don't stress. If we can't help, we'll refund your visit.
Online dermatology isn't right for every concern. If we can't provide a first-line impression, or your condition isn't suitable for review via DocBright, we'll tell you and refund your visit fee.
- A new, changing, itching or bleeding spot. Start a skin growth visit or see a dermatologist in person.
- Deep wrinkles, volume loss or sagging, which respond better to in-person treatments like injectables or lasers
- Rough, scaly patches that keep coming back or don't heal

Medication costs are separate and vary by pharmacy and prescription. A paid follow-up visit is required at least every 3 months for ongoing prescription treatment.
Insurance often doesn't cover these when they're prescribed for signs of aging, so it's worth comparing pharmacy prices.
Questions about skin aging.
Can I get an anti-aging prescription online?
Yes, when it's right for you. You upload photos and answer a few questions, and a board-certified dermatologist decides whether tretinoin, azelaic acid or another option fits your skin. A DocBright visit is a medical evaluation, not a guaranteed prescription.
What's the difference between tretinoin and azelaic acid?
Tretinoin is a prescription retinoid with strong evidence for fine lines, rough texture and sun spots. Azelaic acid is gentler and mainly helps fade dark spots and even out tone, and it suits sensitive or rosacea-prone skin. Some plans use both.
How long until I see results?
Texture and tone often look better within 2 to 3 months. Fine lines usually take 3 to 6 months of steady use, and results keep building after that as long as you keep going and wear sunscreen.
Can I use these if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Tretinoin isn't used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but some options are, such as azelaic acid. Tell your dermatologist in your visit, and they'll choose what's safe for you.
Do I still need sunscreen?
Yes, every day. Sun exposure causes most visible aging, and tretinoin makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. Without sunscreen, dark spots tend to come back.
Will insurance cover it?
Often not. Many plans don't cover these prescriptions when they're for signs of aging. Prices vary a lot by pharmacy and strength, so it's worth comparing before you fill.
Can a prescription cream fix deep wrinkles?
Not usually. Prescription topicals work best on fine lines, texture and dark spots. Deep folds, volume loss and sagging respond better to in-person treatments like injectables, lasers or other procedures.
How often do I need a follow-up?
A follow-up visit is required at least every 3 months to continue treatment, so your dermatologist can check how your skin is doing and adjust the plan.
